Kaveh Golestan

 

Born in 1940 in Abadan

Death in Iraq 2003

 

1962: Diploma from Aborz High School, Tehran

1964: Went to London and entered Midfield Boarding School.

Career

Keyhan Newspaper
Worked as an assistant in the production of the film Secrets of the treasure in Geni’s Valley, directed by Ebrahim Golestan.

1977: Sabz Magazine

1978: Photography of the Revolution and worked for Times

1980: With the outbreak of war with Iraq, he participated as news photographer and cooperated with international news agencies.

1983: Established Reflex Photography Agency in London

1990: Began film photography and produced a documentary under the title Recording the Truth. After the screening of this documentary in the English Network, he was forbidden to work in Iran.

1993: Produced his second documentary called: Dreaming Dumb. His interdict was thus removed and began to work for Associated Press.

1994: Began to teach photography in universities.

1997: Participation in production of a documentary called Staying on directed by Mani Haqiqi. Began working as news photographer for BBC.

2001: After invasion of Iraq by American forces, he went to Iraq.

2003: Died as the result of explosion of a mine
